On top of increased sanitation measures, the city has implemented OpenNorfolk, a boots-on-the-ground program that helps local businesses maintain safety protocols under state and federal guidelines. New pedestrian rights-of-way and a multitude of outdoor restaurant patios for distancing has resulted in a very European vibe, and attendees will find take-out/pickup zones and safety messaging along public sidewalks.

The hotels are rolling out enhanced technologies including electrostatic sprayers to sanitize surfaces while offering digital check in and even using a robot (dubbed Marribot) to undertake such tasks as delivering room service.
